Rocky Mountain Power announces new grants to support Utah, Wyoming and Idaho communities this spring SALT LAKE CITY (May 10, 2021) Even as COVID-19 vaccines roll out across the country, many communities are still facing challenges from the pandemic and the organizations that support them are still seeing unprecedented demand. In spite of the odds, local programs that address critical issues such as food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence, child abuse, elder issues, mental health and community safety have continued to find creative new ways to deliver help quickly and safely, even while facing additional budget constraints. As part of the company’s commitment to supporting its communities, PacifiCorp Foundation, a nonprofit arm of Rocky Mountain Power, is donating more than $525,000 across the six states it serves. Jackson Hole’s cost of living is putting up a roadblock for Teton County nonprofits that provide senior care, shelter for teens in crisis and subsidized mental health care, among other services. “Our budget is . almost entirely salaries and benefits,” Patti Boyd, executive director of the Children’s Learning Center, told the Jackson Town Council and Teton County Board of County Commissioners during a day of budget meetings Thursday. “When we can’t keep up with even the hourly rate that places like our new grocery store or our upcoming REI store can offer people, we’re in danger of losing really good people.”

Khristee Ann Powell, 45, passed away on March 27, 2021, in Riverton, Wyoming. She was born on February 8, 1976 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Dick E. Powell and Leslie (Ball) Powell. Khristee was affectionately known as “Pow Pow” and “Ke-Ke” and resided in Riverton as a CES resident for numerous years. Khristee loved listening to music, going camping, spending time with family and friends, attending CES Events, and swimming. She lived in Green River, Wyoming, with her family from birth until the age of 21, then moved to Riverton and was a resident at CES until the time of her death. She attended C-V Ranches from 1981-1994 in Wilson, Wyoming.
