The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons, has granted a three-year accreditation to the Hampson Mole Breast Health Suite at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, according to a news release.
UH Elyria is the only hospital in Lorain County with this nationally accredited breast cancer care, the release said.
To achieve voluntary the accreditation, a breast center demonstrates compliance with the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers standards that examine a centerâs leadership, clinical services, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement processes.

With the accreditation, the Hampson Mole Breast Health Suite provides evidence-based, multidisciplinary services focused on high-quality care for patients with breast disease.
