UK Black Pride has launched its inaugural Community Survey to find out more about LGBT+ Black people and people of colour in the UK.
Titled
We Will Be Heard, the survey will be used to inform UK Black Pride’s first Community Action Plan, which will decide where funding should be invested in order to best support the community.
It has been launched, in part, in response to the government’s National LGBT+ Survey, in which over 92 per cent of the responses received were from white individuals.

With one in five children at risk of poverty in the EU, S&D Euro MPs will, in a debate this evening in the European Parliament, call on EU leaders to make a commitment at next week’s summit in Porto to end child poverty. The Socialists and Democrats demand a dedicated €20 billion to ensure decent housing and adequate nutrition, as well as free, quality education, childcare and healthcare for all children.

Although homelessness sometimes seems like an unsolvable problem, right now there is strong political alignment across the region to do everything we can to get people off the streets and into homes. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria recently announced new approaches to addressing encampments and the county of San Diego just created a new Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities.
Housing First has long been the model that elected officials and service providers have embraced because it prioritizes placing someone into a permanent home and then focuses on stabilization by providing much needed services.
