Barrow Re:New Community Charity Shop continues to thrive in town centre

THE Re: New Community Charity Shop has continued to provide the Barrow community with its faith-based charity service and survived the troubles of lockdown. Managed by Tim Jeffries, the business opened on February 14, 2018 and has become very ingrained with the community having built several significant connections with other businesses and local groups. Tim said: I ve been here since the beginning and only moved to Barrow six months before we actually opened up. We do a lot of work through local groups of the United Reformed Church and the Methodist Churches. They cover the South West Cumbria United areas. It s through the work we do with them that we feel we can do some real good.

Rathkeale on the rise - Limerick town looks to come out of Covid-19 pandemic stronger than ever

There is a spirited community in West Limerick working on their town’s rejuvenation. Rathkeale which is perfectly located on the N21 between Limerick City and near Newcastle West will soon be at the elbow of the new Foynes to Limerick motorway (Adare Bypass), reducing travel time to about 20 minutes for many of the 94,000 people in Limerick City. Rathkeale’s workforce is highly skilled with 34% engaged in professional managerial, technical, or non-manual work - 43% work in Commerce, Trade and Professional Services and 7% in Agriculture. The unemployed can join the professionally managed Community Employment Project training programme for work experience and upskilling. The town also boasts three national schools, a secondary school, a crèche, the only Youth Centre outside Limerick City, and sheltered housing catering to some of the older residents.
