Eastern Ontario raids lead to seizure of weapons and drugs

/ Napanee Today Dec 18, 2020 4:53 PM An investigation undertaken by members of both the Tyendinaga Police Service (TPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has culminated in the execution of two search warrants and the seizure of a quantity of illegal firearms, drugs and other items. In the early morning hours of December 17, 2020 officers from the OPP and TPS, assisted by the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue (TRU) and Emergency Response Units executed two search warrants on residences located in the Town of Deseronto and on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Police seized a quantity of restricted and illegal firearms from the two residences including a handgun along with a flamethrower and a conducted energy weapon. Additionally, police have also seized substances believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine, over $8000.00 in Canadian currency and various pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Drugs and guns seized in Tyendinaga and Deseronto search warrants

Belleville, ON, Canada / Quinte News Dec 18, 2020 4:15 PM Drugs, guns and other illicit items were seized early Thursday morning in Deseronto and Tyendinaga when police executed search warrants. After an investigation involving Tyendinaga Police, OPP and the Community Street Crime Unit, two search warrants were executed at residences in Deseronto and on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Police seized restricted and illegal firearms from both residences including a handgun, a flame thrower and a conducted energy weapon as well as substances believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine. Police also seized approximately $8,000 in Canadian money. Seven people were arrested during the warrant executions and four people are now facing charges.

As a result of the arrest police located and seized a quantity of drugs, cellphones, cash and drug paraphernalia. A second occupant of the vehicle was also charged with drug offences.
