A Umatilla County infant has died from COVID-19, Oregon health officials reported on Thursday, Feb. 18.
The infant s death was among the six deaths reported by the Oregon Health Authority, bringing the state s death toll to 2,149.
Meanwhile, 466 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases were also reported, bringing the state total to 151,713. Deadly snow and ice storm leaves path of destruction in its wake; sewage treatment at 75% capacity
More than 72,000 Clackamas County residents are still without power as the county and Portland General Electric work to recover from one of the worst ice storms in 40 years.
According to Nancy Bush, county disaster management director, many residents in cities such as Canby and Molalla will be seeing their power restored today, but many more residents in rural areas have still yet to see the lights come back on.
Bush told county commissioners Tuesday, Feb. 16, that approximately 250,000 Clackamas County residents were without power at one point over the past three days more than a quarter of the county s total population.

A dangerous mix of snow and ice hammered much of the region late Friday and early Saturday, forcing TriMet to cease operations, as well as shut down many roads, and knock out power for hundreds thousands of people. Mass vaccination clinics were also canceled for Saturday and Sunday in Portland.

Early Saturday morning, TriMet announced that all MAX and bus service has been temporarily suspended until further notice due to the weather conditions, including LIFT paratransit service. Portland Streetcar service was halted Friday. The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 84 in the Columbia Gorge, and the Portland Bureau of Transportation has closed Marine Drive. New COVID-19 cases continued trending down Sunday, Feb. 14
The Oregon Health Authority reported 254 new cases as of Feb. 14, bringing the state total to 150,281. That compares to 474 new cases reported Saturday, Feb. 13.
The health authority also reported no new deaths, leaving the state s toll at 2,137. That compares to 34 new deaths reported Feb. 13. They took place between Oct. 21 and Feb. 12.
State health officials also reported that a cumulative total of 677,194 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. That is 76% of the 885,250 doses of vaccine that have been delivered to sites across Oregon. Vaccinations at mass sites in Portland have been suspended because of the weather.
