However, they recognize that telehealth services will likely be part of their service delivery model going forward. As such, CALM is beginning discussions about how a tailored hybrid model of mental health service provision can best meet the needs of clients in 2021 and beyond.

Community Environmental Council Welcomes New Members to Partnership Council

Local leaders bring expertise in food and agriculture, coastal conservation, and climate change to support CEC’s work The Community Environmental Council (CEC) is pleased to announce new members to its Partnership Council. CEC’s Partnership Council is comprised of a broad spectrum of community leaders who act as ambassadors to advocate, network, and promote on behalf of CEC. Claire Fackler is a National Education Liaison and National Volunteer Coordinator for the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, where she has worked for the past 21 years to inspire ocean and climate literacy and conservation. In 2018, Claire worked with CEC, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, and Adams Elementary School’s Ocean Guardian Ambassadors on the Skip the Straw campaign leading to these students being recognized with the Spirit of Santa Barbara Award from the City of Santa Barbara and the Environmental Stewards Award from Explore Ecology. Community Environmental Council Posts New Climate Leadership Course

Housing and Development Newsletter Participants will also gain insight into how they can take part in the transformative work CEC and other groups are doing on the Central Coast to address and alleviate climate impacts. To jumpstart the new course, CEC is gathering a 15-person pilot group that will meet February-April. CEC will then open the course up to the public in summer of 2021, with a plan to hold two or three sessions per year moving forward. Once in-person learning can resume, a weekly in-person meeting to supplement the online learning modules will be held at CEC’s new offices, 1219 State St.

Santa Barbara Middle School Going Solar

Housing and Development Newsletter The system was activated on Jan. 5 as part of CEC’s Solarize Nonprofit program solarizenonprofit.org. The Solarize Nonprofit pilot program is designed to help local nonprofits go solar and run off renewable energy without an upfront cost. Santa Barbara Middle School took care that the installation process was non-invasive, and historic care of the building was at the forefront of the project. The public view of the solar panels is mostly hidden, which ensures continued appreciation of the building’s architectural beauty.
