1. On several occasions, Pope Francis has affirmed the need to make the now imminent Covid-19 vaccines
available and accessible to all, avoiding “pharmaceutical marginality”: “
if there is the possibility of treating a disease with a drug, this should be available to everyone, otherwise an injustice is created”.

On January 1, the Church commemorates the 54th World Day of Peace. Pope Francis’s message for the day, released on December 8, is entitled “A Culture of Care as a Path to Peace.”
In his message for the 1st World Day of Peace, Pope St. Paul VI wrote, “It is Our desire that then, every year, this commemoration be repeated as a hope and as a promise, at the beginning of the calendar which measures and outlines the path of human life in time, that Peace with its just and beneficent equilibrium may dominate the development of events to come.”
