DEVILS LAKE - Wayne Cherney, a field agent with the Knights of Columbus Insurance, has achieved qualifying and life membership in the Million Dollar Round Table, which is also the Premier Association of Financial Professionals. Cherney has lived in Devils Lake for the past 26 years.
According to Lights of Columbus, attaining membership in MDRT is, “a distinguishing career milestone.”
“It requires Cherney to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, focus on providing top-notch client service and continue to grow professionally through involvement in at least one other industry association,” the organization said.
MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

DEVILS LAKE – This week we want to take a special moment an honor all the area middle school kids from the new year that have to date been deemed a “Character” for their academic and positive nature. The following students have been named a character of the week in January or February. Our thanks to Central Middle School for their assistance in providing information on the students.
8th grader Kariauna Smith rang in the new year as the first character of the week for the school. The school said Kariauna has a kind and caring personality. She works extremely hard in her classes. According to the school, she is a great advocate for herself, and she is polite and respectful.
Community Shout Out: Bonn and Ehnert make NDSCS President’s Honor List

DEVILS LAKE Devils Lake’s own Cole Bonn and Breydin Ehnert have made the North Dakota State College of Science Fall Semester President’s List.
Bonn and Ehnert are both currently majoring in Welding Technology.
The North Dakota State College of Science recognizes students who have achieved grade point averages of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 credits with letter grades.

Devils Lake’s Shelby Beercroft makes college Dean’s List

DEVILS LAKE – Devils Lake’s own Shelby Beercroft was recently recognized as being one of the many who was recognized by Dakota College as making the Fall 2020 Dean’s List.
Dakota College at Bottineau recognizes students from the fall 2020 semester for their academic success. This academic success recognizes outstanding students who are investing time, energy and resources to becoming contributing members of society. Dean’s List students maintain a GPA of 3.5 and higher and the Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0-3.49.
