La Crosse superintendent unveils educational equity plan

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) La Crosse School Superintendent Aaron Engel unveiled the district’s educational equity plan Monday night, intended to “give each student what they need to succeed.”
“Closing the achievement gap while raising the achievement for each and every student is a top priority for your Superintendent and all district personnel,” according to the “Strategic Plan for Educational Equity” that Engel outlined for during an in-person, but masked and physically distanced board meeting.

Engel also told the board that the district is moving toward resuming five-day, in-person instruction for middle and high school students, perhaps by the fourth quarter. Schools so far have reported very few COVID-19 cases under hybrid schedules, and none that have been transmitted from students to adults, he said.
