Feb. 5 will be the last day for asymptomatic COVID-19 testing at the AT&T Center.
SAN ANTONIO – The Community Lab asymptomatic COVID-19 testing site at the AT&T Center will close after this week, but two new locations are coming starting Monday.
Friday will be the final day of free testing at the AT&T Center.
“The AT&T Center has been a great partner, but the upcoming San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo and continuing NBA Spurs games pose significant scheduling restrictions,” said Community Labs president, Sal Webber. “We’re incredibly grateful to the Barshop Jewish Community Center and Rackspace Technology for offering us locations to continue to serve asymptomatic people who wish to be tested for COVID-19.”
TIP taps Parallel Wireless to support Indonesia lab - Mobile World Live 03 FEB 2021
The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) selected Parallel Wireless’ open RAN software to support infrastructure initiatives at its first laboratory in Indonesia, progressing test and validation efforts around technologies meant to boost the nation’s digital growth and economy.
In a statement, Parallel Wireless explained the TIP Community Lab will employ its cloud-native open-RAN software as part of broader testing efforts designed to aid deployment by operators Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo, XL Axiata and Smartfren.
Keith Johnson, Parallel Wireless COO, said: “The telecom industry is demanding networks that are open and flexible in order to reduce deployment and maintenance cost.”

Open RAN plans focus on rural coverage
With the planned Telecom Infra Project (TIP) Community Lab based in Bandung, Indonesia, now open and acting as the local hub of test and validation activity, Indonesia’s mobile operators are accelerating their Open RAN activities, with some already engaging in trials.
The Lab, first announced in July last year, is located at the privately-run Telkom University and supported by the GSMA, Facebook (a TIP founder and major backer) and a host of vendors.
