School officials sent out the following email early this morning:
Last night the West Plains Middle School building was vandalized. No one was harmed, and classes will be in session today. Please drop students off at the middle school as normal this morning. Students will then be walked down by faculty and staff to the high school gym until the detectives are finished with the investigation.

A West Plains man has been arrested after fleeing from law enforcement and allegedly trying to throw away narcotics.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday night, West Plains police officers observed a motorcycle with lighting violations in the area of Halstead Street. The officers made contact with the subject on the motorcycle, who was identified as being 53-year-old Sean Boyer of West Plains.
Boyer allegedly fled from officers on the motorcycle before losing control and crashing in the area of Webster Avenue and Harms Street. Boyer then allegedly fled on foot but was caught by officers. Boyer reportedly began physically resisting arrest, a news release from the West Plains Police Department states. He was then transported to the Howell County Jail.

West Plains police are looking for information on two men who recently broke into the local Little Caesars.
On Sunday, officers responded to the Little Caesars for a burglary alarm. When they arrived, they found a glass door had been broken. Officers entered the building but did not find anyone inside.
During the on-scene investigation, officers discovered the safe in the business had been dragged to the back door of the business and apparently removed.
During a review of surveillance footage, officers observed two male suspects enter through the front door of the business after breaking the glass on the door. Footage showed the suspects dragging the safe to the back door of the business and then loading the safe into a vehicle behind the business.
