Wilson, 37, of 27 Lavan Drive was arrested Tuesday on a charge of murder in the death of Malcolm V. Fitts, 26, of Chicago. Fitts, who is from Jacksonville, died about an hour after arriving Sunday at Passavant Area Hospital with a gunshot wound. Police had been called to the 800 block of Hoagland Boulevard about 5:30 a.m. Sunday because of reports of shots being fired. Wilson was being held Wednesday in the Morgan County Detention Facility. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 30.

Malcolm Fitts, formerly of Jacksonville, died at 6:52 a.m. Sunday at Passavant Area Hospital. Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson said an autopsy was completed Monday and, while final results will take several weeks, preliminary findings indicate gunshot wounds were the cause of death. No other information from the autopsy was being released Monday.
