She describes herself as a contemporary Xicana designer, where she combines practices from the Chicano Movement of the ’60s with present day applications to create and share her work.
Her work consists of large scale illustrations made up of copy paper and wheat paste. She received a B.A. in art/design studies and a minor in Chicano Studies from San Jose State University in 2017. She earned her master of fine arts in design at UC Davis in 2019.
Arriaga has been featured in more than 20 exhibitions, has hosted workshops and art pop-ups, and was on the cover of the Santa Barbara Independent in September. Her website is adrianaarriaga.com.

Shiva Baby
Writer-director Emma Seligman s debut film takes on the anxiety and awkwardness involved in Jewish family gatherings. Danielle (Rachel Sennott) rushes to meet her parents and various relatives at a family shiva. While being interrogated about her future (or lack thereof), she runs into her successful ex-girlfriend, Maya. Also at the gathering is Danielle s sugardaddy, his accomplished wife and their new baby. The comedy-drama will be out on VOD and in select theaters on Friday, April 2.

#CelebrateClimateLeadership, a virtual Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival dedicated to inspiration, community building, and climate action will be held Thursday, April 22 to Saturday, April 24. Hosted by the Community Environmental Council (CEC), the free livestream event will be available to view at SBEarthDay.org.
The Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival, which is fully online again this year due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, will feature conversations with climate leaders, musical performances, art contests, inspirational speakers, and opportunities for viewers to learn how they can lean into action.
