He added, I am very certain, but to be honest, it hurts. I love Benny and the rest of the members very much. The journey of the party aspiring to create a liberal democratic society is more crucial than ever. I will continue to take part in this journey.

“I’m finished with Benny,” Avi Nissenkorn told his associates as he left Kahol Lavan 10 days ago. His decision came after he was summoned to his party chairman’s home only to find former minister Haim Ramon – who seeks to reform the courts – sitting on the sofa. Gantz informed the shocked justice minister that Ramon was his representative in negotiations with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In the short time that has elapsed since the Justice Minister decided to part ways from Benny Gantz, he has already attracted a series of high-profile suitors, and his indecision left them on tenterhooks. He met with Yair Lapid and Ron Huldai, both of whom have courted him assiduously. Over the following week, he changed his mind more than once.

Former IDF chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot has decided not to run in the upcoming Knesset elections, Hebrew media reported Wednesday.
Eisenkot informed the party leaders with whom he’d been in touch with about joining their ranks of his decision.
While Eisenkot is eligible to be elected to the Knesset, he is barred from serving as a minister until 2022, due to legislation requiring a “cooling off” period for former senior officials.
The retired general was one of the most sought-after figures this election cycle and his name was linked in reports to several parties, including Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope, Yesh Atid, Telem, New Right and Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai’s new party, The Israelis.

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi announced on Wednesday that he was taking a break from politics and leaving Blue and White, in the latest high-profile defection from Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s ailing party.
Ashkenazi, the No. 2 in Blue and White, told Gantz this week that he won’t run on the party’s slate in the March 23 elections, according to a statement.
“I do not intend to run in the next election in Blue and White and I’m taking time off and considering how to proceed,” Ashkenazi said.

The Blue & White party s No. 2, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, announced Wednesday that he will retire from the party and take a break from politics. I have decided to not continue with Blue & White and to take a break and calculate my future life, the former IDF chief said.
