The annual Lyrid meteor shower may have peaked last night, but there s still time to catch the show through April 25.
In the Bay Area, you re unlikely to see the blazing fireballs streaking across the sky at the coast and in San Francisco with fog in the overnight forecast, but you may see them overhead from inland areas. The best chance for clear skies tonight will be inland away from the coast and down the bay shoreline, said Roger Gass, a forecaster with the National Weather Service s office in Monterey. Places like Hayward and near the San Francisco airport and down through San Jose and up and around Oakland, these locations will have a better chance.
