KOTA KINABALU: Sabah s rural tourism players are not losing hope and keeping their eco-tourism products intact for the industry to make a comeback in the future.
Despite the slowdown in tourism since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the rural tourism operators are committed to ensuring their community-based eco-tourism areas are always well-kept to welcome future visitors.
One such place is Kisakot Eco Tourism at Kampung Melangkap Tiong where villagers are pooling resources to build several rest huts to improve the existing infrastructure facilities.
Kadamaian Tourism Association chairman Walter Kandayon said Kisakot Eco-Tourism was among more than 80 rural tourism operators in Kadamaian who had successfully obtained approval for a RM20,000 grant application under the Sabah New Deal.
DUBAI: The participants in Marib’s first conference for Human Rights urged the inclusion of Houthi militia as a terrorist organization due to their war crimes, state news agency Saba New reported.
Marib’s governor Abd Rabbo Moftah said the city hosts 3 million people, with over two million displaced and distributed in 145 settlements and camps, from various other governorates.
Another official highlighted Houthi’s war crimes and targeting of camps, which has killed and injured several civilians including women and children, report added.
Meanwhile, Al-Jawf’s rights and information committee said the militia continue to plant booby-traps and mines on roads made for the public, Saba New reported.
The coalition has destroyed the missile and the launch pad, the report added.
Yemen’s government condemned on Monday the Houthi militia’s repeated attacks on camps for the displaced in Marib, state news agency Saba New reported.
Yemen’s foreign affairs ministry said that the Houthi militia has targeted camps north of Marib, which host internally displaced people, with artillery and missiles.
The attacks have caused dozens of casualties, most of which are women and children, the ministry said, adding that attacks have so far displaced 576 families.
The coalition also said the Houthi militia continue to target innocent civilians, the report by Al-Ekhbariya added.
