Kuala Lumpur: The Sessions Court on Friday was told that Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) had sent a letter to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak denying that it had given support to Asli Jati Engineering Sdn Bhd for the awarding of the maintenance and services work for mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems contract at the university. Najib was the then Prime Minister and Finance Minister. Referring to the letter dated Nov 26, 2014 issued by UMS, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigating officer Raja Mohd Shasrizam Raja Nik said the denial was following the action of two UMS officers issuing letters of support to the company owned by Datuk Peter Anthony, who is also former Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister.

Published on: Tuesday, May 04, 2021 By: Bernama Kuala Lumpur: The Sessions Court was Monday told that Datuk Peter Anthony (pic) sent three support letters regarding the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) system maintenance and services contract at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to the then prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in 2014, a month after the tender was closed. Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigating officer Mazery Mohd Zaini, 37, said Peter, who is also the former Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister, sent letters dated June 9 and 10 and July 11, 2014 to Najib’s principal private secretary, the late Datuk Azlin Alias, despite knowing the tender was closed in May the same year.
