+ March 10, 2021 SEVEN micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Negros Occidental are being featured in the ongoing Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) International Furniture and Furnishings Show 2021, the first unified virtual exposition for the Asean furniture circuit.
These are Artisana Island Crafts, Bevz Handicraft, Creative Definitions, Golden Arts and Furnishings, Tumandok Craft Industries, Yssa’s Handicraft Manufacturing, and Hacienda Crafts Company.

+ February 10, 2021 A LABOR leader in Negros Occidental is calling on the government to protect the real wages from falling through one, provision of necessary wage increase to the workers.
Wennie Sancho, secretary general of General Alliance of Workers Associations (Gawa), said wage is the price of labor in the production of goods and services.
Sancho, also the labor representative to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Western Visayas, said it is the remuneration for all forms of human endeavors.

Maria Ester Mate Espina, who comes from a family of journalists and artists and currently serving as the district chair for public image and RI appointed Assistant Regional Public Image Coordinator for RY 2021-2022, was chosen as District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) for 2023-2024 by the District Nominating Committee last February 6, 2021, Saturday, at the UCC Cafe in Lacson Street, Bacolod City.
This means that she will be serving as Rotary governor for District 3850 for RY 2023-2024.
February 04, 2021 THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South has collaborated with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) and La Carlota City Government for the implementation of the sugarcane-rice cropping system (SRCS) project in Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City.
The land being tilled by members of Hacienda Esperanza Communal Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (Hecarba) was identified as one of the additional sites of the project in the province.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I Enrique Paderes, during the launching of the project on Wednesday, February 3, said the project is seen to directly benefit 30 members of the association.
