The United States Department of Agriculture “Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Justin Maxson” announced today that
USDA is investing $185 million to equip, rebuild, and modernize essential services in rural areas of 32 states benefitting 3 million rural residents.
And the USDA is investing in 16 Michigan projects, 4 of which are in the U.P.
They include:
2) The City of Kingsford
3) The City of Iron Mountain
And
4) The City of Norway
Maxson said “The Biden-Harris Administration has made investing in infrastructure improvements a priority” adding that “They also will help rural communities continue to beat the COVID-19 pandemic as America builds back better and stronger.”
New COVID case reported in Sanilac County

While there were no coronavirus changes in Huron and Tuscola counties June 30, there was one new case in Sanilac County, according to the state.
The state report showed Sanilac County is at 3,736 confirmed cases and 117 deaths. Huron County remains at 3,057 confirmed cases and 75 deaths; and Tuscola County at 4,886 confirmed cases and 162 deaths.
State testing data showed a statewide test positivity average of nearly 1.1% June 29. Huron and Tuscola counties remained at 0% test positivity. Meanwhile, Sanilac County s positivity rate jumped to 3.3% based on one positive test out of 29 processed.
There were 195 new cases and four deaths reported across the state June 30. Since the start of the pandemic there has been 894,628 confirmed cases and 19,748 deaths in the state.
