Anthony Joshua successfully defended his WBA ‘Super’, IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight titles with a ninth round knockout victory over the Kubrat Pulev at SSE Arena, Wembley on Saturday.
Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) and Pulev (28-2, 14 KOs) were set to collide at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June this year, but the pandemic sadly put paid to that spectacle.
Pulev (28-2, 14 KOs) awaited his foe on the balls of his feet ahead of the opening bell, and the pair were cagey and trying to establish their jabs early on, in what was an opening round devoid of action.

It was yet another routine performance for Shakur Stevenson, as he routed Toka Kahn Clary on the scorecards over ten rounds inside the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Stevenson, (15-0, 8 KOs) a former world champion at Featherweight is now campaigning at Super Featherweight, and would have wanted a statement win to send a message to the world champions in the division, but he was forced to settle for a landslide points win instead.

Sam Eggington got back on track after suffering defeat last time out, as he stopped Ashley Theophane in six rounds of their Super Welterweight encounter in Redditch.
Eggington lost a razor thin decision to Ted Cheeseman last time out, while Theophane was most definitely in the twilight of his career at 40, and with wins over journeymen littering his recent career.
Eggington stalked his man in the opening round, and dominated without exerting himself too much.
The end of the second round saw Eggington score a knockdown, a an off balance Theophane was driven back towards the ropes by an Eggington right hand, and with only the ropes holding him up, the count was administered.

Hughie Fury has vowed to make a “statement” against Mariusz Wach and insists he has only shown a glimpse of what he is capable of.
Fury (24-3, 14 KOs) returns for the first time since stopping Pavel Sour in three rounds in March and faces durable, fellow former world title challenger Wach (36-6, 19 KOs) on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s unified Heavyweight world title defence against Kubrat Pulev on Saturday.
Fury has three defeats on his slate to world level operators, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and the aforementioned Pulev, all on points, however the Manchester man insists the best is yet to come from him, starting against the experienced Pole at The SSE Arena.
