This is a concert with a difference, drawing on a heritage theme and presented in an informal manner with something for all musical tastes. Hammers & Horsehair duo Douglas Mews (piano) and Robert Ibell (cello) toured extensively around Aotearoa in 2016, 2018 and 2020. Their concert in Whanganui is the first of a six-stop tour of the North Island in which they are joined by well-known Wellington soprano Rowena Simpson to reimagine the triumphant 1922 New Zealand tour of Blenheim-born Rosina Buckman (soprano) with Adelina Leon (cello) and Percy Kahn (pianist-composer).

The Hammers & Horsehair duo of Douglas Mews (piano) and Robert Ibell (cello) have toured New Zealand extensively in recent years and Culliford said this concert was the first of a six-stop tour of the North Island and would be something special.

Latin America to add 63 million SVOD subscriptions over five years

| 08 March 2021 Days after warning in that the region’s poorly-performing economies have hit its pay-TV arena hard, Digital TV Research is predicting that the Latin America market will have 116 million subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) customers by 2026, up from 53 million recorded at the end of 2020. In its Latin America OTT TV and Video Forecasts report, Digital TV Research expects that the Latin America region will witness a wave of major SVOD platform launches during 2021. Paramount+ has just launched and this will be followed by HBO Max and Star+ in June. Discovery+ is also expected expand in the region. Examining where the market will likely take off, th study forecast that Brazil will contribute 44 million to the 2026 total, followed by Mexico with 29 million.
