Image used for representational purpose only CHANDIGARH: Punjab, on Friday, conducted the second dry run for Covid-19 vaccination roll-out at three sites, including a district hospital, private health facility and health centre in rural area in each district. Participants of the mock drill were 25 beneficiaries, a five-member vaccination team and a supervisor per session site. Interacting with mediapersons after the dry run at the district hospital in Phase VI of Mohali, Punjab health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said the dry run was “successful across the state”. “Simulation of the entire inoculation process was conducted and the staff was made familiar with all the aspects of the actual administration of the vaccine. All logistics have been worked out and we are good to go,” said Sidhu.

UT pushes for Resco model for solar power | Chandigarh News

Over 300 city residents had shown interest in installation of solar rooftop plants at their houses under Resco model CHANDIGARH: The UT administration has given its approval to Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (Crest) to move Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for Resco (Renewable Energy Service Company) model clearance. As over 300 city residents had shown interest in installation of solar rooftop plants at their houses under Resco model, the administration had planned to knock on the doors of JERC. Recently, in a meeting under the chairmanship of UT adviser Manoj Parida, Crest officials submitted the status report, and accordingly, the adviser approved to file petition before the power regulatory body.

Agencies identify Army jawan who took part in stir in military uniform | India News

The Army jawan had protested at Bathinda on December 14, 2020 CHANDIGARH: After almost a month, security agencies and military intelligence have identified one serving Army jawan who participated in one of the farmers’ protests against the Centre’s agriculture laws. The security agencies had swung into action after photographs and videos circulated online indicated participation of men in Indian Army uniform in the protests. TOI has now accessed details that reveal that the jawan, identified as a native of Ghudda village in Bathinda district, had participated in the protest during his leave period. The soldier is presently posted in Udhampur area of Jammu & Kashmir. TOI is withholding the name of the jawan and his regiment to protect his identity.
