Health minister says expansion will help achieve target of immunizing 80,000 citizens daily

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that the government was increasing the number of vaccination centres in Punjab to achieve the target to vaccinate 80,000 people daily in the province.
Chairing a meeting at Civil Secretariat to review the emerging coronavirus situation, initiative to increase vaccination centers, boosting health facilities at public sector hospitals for Covid-19 patients and ancillary areas on Saturday, she added that the provincial health department was ensuring uninterrupted supply of oxygen in the province.
Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Additional chief secretary, Additional chief secretary (Home) and senior military and civil officials were present in the meeting while Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bukht joined via video link.

The government has opened negotiations with recently outlawed religious party after they freed 11 policemen abducted during week-long protests against France, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Monday.
The policemen were abducted during clashes outside TLP headquarters in Lahore. Photographs of the police officers, with their heads, legs and arms heavily bandaged, were posted on social media by their captors. “They’ve released the 11 policemen they had held hostage,” Sh Rashid said in a video statement. He said negotiations with the TLP are under way.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday announced that the government will present a resolution on the expulsion of the French ambassador in the National Assembly later today.
In a video statement, he said the decision was taken after another round of talks with the recently proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
While the minister said that the resolution will be presented later today, there is no session scheduled for Tuesday. A day earlier, the session was adjourned to meet again on April 22 (Thursday) at 2pm.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says he will share details of talks with the banned TLP in a press conference today.
ISLAMABAD: After days of protests, the government agreed to table a resolution in the National Assembly seeking to expel the French ambassador to Pakistan and take back cases against members of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
The announcement was made by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Tuesday in a video statement shared on Twitter.
The statement was released after a government delegation, comprising the interior minister, Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noorul Haq Qadri, SAPM Tahir Ashrafi, Governor Punjab Mohammad Sarwar and Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, held talks with members of the proscribed group in Lahore.
