EU supports Vietnam in adopting better management of packaging waste 12:17 | 04/02/2021 The European Union cooperates with the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) and other stakeholders to take steps towards efficient plastic waste management in Vietnam to reduce marine plastic litter. Rui Ludovino, first counsellor at the Delegation of the EU to Vietnam, shared his thoughts about packaging management in Vietnam The information was stressed at a consultation workshop on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Plastic Packaging co-hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE), the EU and Expertise France on January 20 in Ho Chi Minh City. The principle of EPR mechanism is outlined in the revised Law on Environmental Protection (LEP) in Vietnam.

Some employees of PADA referred to Public Prosecution - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The official spokesperson of the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs (PADA) and the Director of the Legal Affairs Department Mubarak Al-Baddah says the authority has referred some employees to the Public Prosecution Office for investigation regarding unlawful disbursement of money, reports Aljarida daily. Clarifying that these sums were disbursed to rehabilitative and educational bodies in violation of the law and without implementing the regulations issued in this regard, he said some Kuwaiti and expatriate employees of the authority have been referred for investigation, after their involvement in the incident was proven. Al-Baddah said the referral came after it became clear to the Legal Affairs Department that the incident may constitute a suspicion of facilitating the seizure of public funds, stressing that this step comes in implementation of the state’s laws aimed at preserving public funds and confronting attempts to waste it.

The goal of electing members of the new Shura Council is to enhance effective popular participation in managing the country’s affairs and making decisions, a senior official at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said yesterday. “The elections for Shura Council which will be held in October this year represent a qualitative leap in Qatar’s development process. The Council can summon Ministers, including the Prime Minister, can dismiss ministers, monitor the government’s financial management and approve the budget,” said Brigadier Salim Saqr Al Muraikhi, Director of Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Interior. In November last year, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani announced that the elections for Shura Council will be held in October this year, 2021.
