Health Department Adds First Dose Appointments To The Vaccination Schedule; For Phases 1a1, 1a2 And Adults 75+ By Appointment Only Friday, January 22, 2021
The Hamilton County Health Department, in partnership with Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management, will begin taking first dose appointments again starting today (Friday) at 9 a.m.
All appointments are at the Riverpark Hubert Fry Center, 4301 Amnicola Hwy. Enter near the Chattanooga State side of the Riverpark, not the Navy and Marine Reserve side.
Those in the current Phases (1a1, 1a2, and individuals 75 and older) are encouraged to make their appointment online. Visit https://vaccine.hamiltontn.
gov/ to view the list of phases and click on the first dose appointment link. Click the date tabs at the top of the appointment website and choose an available appointment time.

Gary N. Davis, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, watching football at his home in Cleveland, as a result of esophageal cancer.
Born in Cleveland in 1941 to O.D. and Virginia Davis, he moved with his parents and brother, Richard, to Cleveland, Ohio, around 1943. After graduating from West Tech High School in 1959, Gary worked with the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad until he became a City of Cleveland, Ohio, to be a police officer in 1965. He took great pride in his job as a patrolman who worked sporting events for the NFL Cleveland Browns and the AHL Cleveland Barons hockey team, as well as many concerts and special events.
Here in Chattanooga, Skill Up is a series of courses to help workers upgrade their skills for better jobs while still getting paid to go to school.
It’s a partnership between Chattanooga State, the Benwood Foundation, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and local employers.

UTC Wrestlers Win Over Citadel, Gardner Webb Sunday, January 17, 2021 The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team posted two wins in a tri-meet at Gardner-Webb today. The Mocs defeated The Citadel 17-15 and Gardner-Webb 23-13 to improve to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference action. Gardner-Webb is an affiliate member of the SoCon in wrestling and hosted the matches in Boiling Springs, N.C. Both were broadcast on ESPN+ with links to the replay temporarily available at the top of the page. “We have to get better in the hard positions and fighting through them,” stated head coach Kyle Ruschell. “We also have to better with our basics, getting to our ties and our finishes. We had some guys competing hard and some others that need to step up an continue to get better.”
