Chattanooga State Nursing Community Service Project Focuses On Homeless Friday, December 11, 2020 - by Dr. Cheryl Miller, Chattanooga State
The Hennie Gunter Wellness Fair for the Homeless is an annual community service project organized by Chattanooga State Community College senior registered nursing students during their mental health rotation every November.
Now in its eighth year, the Hennie Gunter Wellness Fair continues to be successful when students, businesses and individuals come together as a community to supply needed items for the homeless.
This year, due to COVID-19, the wellness fair had to be modified, and students were not able to physically engage with the clients. However, dental students and nursing students jointly collected items to be donated to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
