I am afraid I am neither happy nor sad after I learn that Chattanooga’s newest mayor is among those who have endorsed that Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce admission of systemic racism in our city. I have gone on record as saying the claim is untrue and that I am ashamed of the “woke generation” but Kelly’s quick response is counter to mine and his admission will inflame some who had hoped he was as fed up with America as it now stands. Thank God the only pressing tasks today is to solve the riddles in The Sunday Funnies!

The Chattanooga Technology Council, which was founded “to connect the Chattanooga technology community to help drive economic growth across the region,” has long celebrated notable IT achievements by local employers through its TechX Awards program. This year, the Council added a new category: IT Champion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
While this new category sounds good to the untrained ear, it is a signal that the Council is turning from rewarding excellence in performance, objectively measured, to subjectively rewarding wokeness, and, thereby, undermining its mission and undercutting technical-based local IT competitive advantages. Chattanooga Chamber Of Commerce Wins Top Industry Award For Communications Friday, April 30, 2021
The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce has been named one of three Communications Excellence Best in Show winners by ACCE, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. ACCE’s Awards for Communications Excellence program showcases top communications and marketing work of chambers of commerce and similar organizations.
