The 8th parliamentary elections will be the first regular elections, not snap, for the first time in 16 years. Nur Otan party, Ak Zhol party, People s Party of Kazakhstan, Adal Party, and Auyl party are running for 107-seat Mazhilis. 98 members of the Mazhilis are elected by the voters, the threshold to win a seat is 7 percent. 9 members of the Mazhilis are elected by the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan. Members of Parliament are elected to five-year terms.
