BENGALURU, India, May 10, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Tejas Networks (BSE: 540595) (NSE: TEJASNET) today announced that TelOne, one of Zimbabwe s largest telecom entities and the most affordable internet service provider, has deployed Tejas 100G/100G+ coherent DWDM solution. TelOne has the widest network coverage in Zimbabwe with connectivity across the country, anchored on its robust backbone infrastructure. TelOne has strong connections to multiple undersea cable systems and has shareholding in the West Indian Ocean Cable Company (WIOCC), which has a major stake in the East African Submarine System (EASSy) cable.
Tejas Networks says it has supplied its TJ1600 DWDM/OTN platform to TelOne, an ISP in Zimbabwe. TelOne will use the 100G and greater wavelength transmission capabilities on its network throughout the African country.
TelOne provides telecommunications services to homes, businesses, educational institutions, and government departments across Zimbabwe via a robust fiber backbone network. It also is a shareholder in the West Indian Ocean Cable Co. (WIOCC), which has a major stake in the East African Submarine System (EASSy) submarine cable. TelOne’s network connects to multiple other cable landing stations as well.

10 May 2021 | Alan Burkitt-Gray Zimbabwe’s TelOne is expanding its network coverage at the same time as it is fighting the country’s government over unpaid bills worth US$2.6 million.
The company has hired Indian vendor Tejas Networks to build a 100Gbps fibre network to improve bandwidth to customers.
