srinagar: The J&K High Court has granted bail to a Pakistani woman who was convicted of an offence under Section 14-A of Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004, by the trial court in 2019.
The High Court recorded that the applicant, Faiza Begum, had been sentenced to imprisonment of three years and a fine of Rs 10,000.
Justice Sanjay Dhar said that the applicant had been convicted on 18 March 2019 by the trial court and since then she is in jail.
“Thus, out of three years of imprisonment awarded to the petitioner, she has already served more than two years and three months in jail,” Justice Dhar said.

around 100 politicians, political workers, anti-India leaders and OGW’s of militants will face “preventive” detention or will be booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The new drive, it said is being launched by the administration to prevent “breach of peace.” Interestingly, these days mainstream politicians are more on radar than the separatists. In the last few weeks, police have already arrested three senior PDP leaders, a day before the counting of votes in DDC polls and one NC leader from south Kashmir, after the declaration of results. The detained leaders, officials said are under preventive detention under section 107/151 CrPC as there were apprehensions of “breach of peace.”

JAMMU, Dec 20: Apni Party today appointed four members of Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Schedule Caste (SC) community as new office bearers of District Jammu Rural unit.
In a meeting held here today, State coordinator of OBC, Madan Chalotra and State coordinator of SC Unit, Bodh Raj Bhagat announced appointment of four office bearers of District Jammu Rural in presence of senior vice president, Ghulam Hassan Mir, general secretary Vijay Bakaya, Provincial president Manjit Singh, Provincial president Women Wing, Namrata Sharma and others at Gandhi Nagar office of the Party in Jammu.
