A complaint has been filed against actor Chetan Kumar for alleged derogatory comments against the Brahmin community. HS Sachidananda Murthy, Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board Chairman says that he had urged the police to take strict against the actor for allegedly calling Brahmins terrorist . Actor Chetan used derogatory comments against Brahmin community. He calls Brahmins, terrorists. Along with members of the Board, I met Police Commissioner Kamal Pant & Police assured us action against him, Ani quoted Murthy as saying. Chetan s comments are unacceptable & he has to tender an unconditional apology to the community. I feel he is doing this just for publicity. I appeal to the Police to take strict action against Chetan, he added.

Actor Dhruva Sarja s latest outing Pogaru is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The film was released in last week with high expectation and the film is doing mind-blowing business at the box office.
For those who joined late to the story, Brahmin community are upset with few scenes in Pogaru. Recently, Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board criticised the demeaning of priests in the film. To insult any community or religion in a film isn t correct. Pogaru blatantly shows Brahmin community in a poor light.
We demand an apology from the films team and removal of all the scenes that are objectionable, said Board president HS Sachidananda Murthy. Yesterday, The decision was arrived at after members of the Karnataka Brahmin Development Board (KBDB) and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) met on Tuesday, February 23, in Bengaluru.

Dhruva Sarja s movie, Pogaru won the hearts of the people and is scoring well at the box office. But the film has hurt the feeling of Brahmins. HS Sachidananda Murthy, President of Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board said that the makers of the movie have portrayed priests in a derogatory manner and demanded the removal of objectionable scenes in the film. Some section of people have criticised for showing the Brahmin community in a very humiliating manner.
Sachidanda said that, It s disgrace to show any caste or religion in a derogatory manner as it will spoil the social system we live in. Remove the scenes immediately and the makers of the movie must apologize. If our demands are not fulfilled then we will protest in front of film chamber of commerce as well as in various parts of the state.
