£5 million boost for local authorities to tackle air pollution Air Quality Grants awarded across England to fund local projects for cleaner air From: 9 March 2021 Local authorities across England have been granted more than £5 million in government funding to deliver innovative projects to improve air quality. The money, from the government’s Air Quality Grant, helps councils develop and implement measures to benefit schools, businesses and communities and reduce the impact of dirty air on people’s health. More than double the funding awarded in 2020 has been made available for this year’s grant, meaning a raft of particularly strong applications are being supported.

Sussex council defers vote on industrial rezoning

Tuesday, January 12, 2021 At its March 2 meeting, Sussex County Council heard plans for a rezoning to develop an industrial park on 67 acres on the west side of Gravel Hill Road/Route 30 and bordering Route 16 one mile west of Milton. Reed Farms LLC has filed for a rezoning of the parcel from AR-1 to HI-1, heavy industrial district, and an application to amend the county’s future land-use map to change designation of the property from low-density to a developing area, which is needed for the zoning change. At its Feb. 25 meeting, Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of both applications. Following its public hearing, county council members voted to defer a decision to a future meeting.
