Experts worried about interference of armed forces in Nigerian civic space

Nigeria must reduce the interference of the military in situations that should be handled by other security agencies, military officers and civil society actors have advised.
The military is currently carrying out operations in 34 states out of the 36 states.
This development formed a part of the discussion at the State and Civil Society Actors Conference on the Intersection of National Security and the Civic Space in Nigeria held in Abuja on Thursday.

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has advised that female gender shouldn’t misconstrue feminism to mean fighting for women blindly.
Mrs Fayemi said she would only defend and promote women who value dignity, self-respect and walk on the path of truthfulness.
This was as she also ruled out the possibility of a female president for Nigeria for now, owing to the hostile political system.
She however added that the country is ripe enough to be governed by a female President, because of its vast women resources at its disposal, reiterating that the operating system might impede this from being realised now.
