James Tuller Dill
James Tuller Dill, 76, died peacefully April 29, 2021, with his family and cherished cat nearby. He was happy, he said, in the days preceding his eventual deep sleep.
Jim was born January 27, 1945, in Long Branch, New Jersey, on the eve of the country’s optimistic post-World II boom years. He was the essence of the front end of the Baby Boomers curious, innovative, inventive, ready to explore and create a new world.
He appreciated his education, and stretched his intellect in many directions. He loved his first schools Rumson Country Day and Cardigan Mountain School (He graduated from that New Hampshire school in 1961; his favorite memories included clearing ski trails in the woods, snowy winters, and being Senior Class President), and eventually attended Deerfield Academy, graduating from that school in 1966.

âBy making it more affordable to adopt, reducing bureaucratic red tape and championing the safety of children across our state, we can ensure that Georgiaâs children are placed in those homes in a secure and safer future for generations to come,â Kemp said Monday.
Legislative leaders including Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan backed legislation to lower the age for parents to adopt children to 21 and allow foster and homeless children to obtain tuition waivers from the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.

State Rep. Marty Harbin proposed legislation to ban transgender women from participating in high school sports in Georgia. (Photo by Matt Hennie)
A bill that bans transgender women from high school sports passed a Georgia Senate committee on Wednesday, becoming the fastest-moving of at least four anti-LGBTQ bills before lawmakers.
The “Save Girls Sports Act” from Sen. Marty Harbin, a Republican from Tyrone, passed the Senate Education & Youth Committee on a 5-3 party-line vote. It now moves to the Rules Committee – chaired by state Sen. Jeff Mullis, a co-sponsor of the bill – before a likely vote by the full state Senate.
