Biden and the CDC Raise an Omnious Question: Will We Ever Get Back to Normal?

Share Source: AP Photo/Andrew Harnik Well, it s been a year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 to be a global pandemic. To commemorate the anniversary, President Joe Biden stayed awake long enough to give an approximately 25 minute speech, though, in a shock to no one, didn t take questions. Irresponsible Spending and the Texas Energy Crisis

The WasteWatcher March 2, 2021 Frances Floresca During the days and weeks after a winter storm hit Texas on February 11, dozens died, millions were without power, and nearly half of the state’s residents were forced to boil their water.  The storm may become the worst disaster in the state’s history, surpassing Hurricane Harvey, which caused $125 billion in damage.  The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) operates most of the state’s electrical grid and manages the market for around 75 percent of the state.  Its system is independent of the rest of the country and therefore could not use the national grid for help during this crisis, which is also true for future crises. While ERCOT is a nonprofit entity, it is still subject to oversightby the Public Utility Commission of Texas and the Texas Legislature. Hearings are already being held to determine how ERCOT should be held accountable for its blackouts and outages before, during, and after the storm.

(Photo by GEORGE FREY/AFP via Getty Images) (CNSNews.com) - As Texans struggle through a prolonged cold snap that has left many homes dark and now flooded with burst water pipes, attention turns to the state-managed power grid and the relative merits of fossil fuels versus green energy. On Thursday, Texas Public Policy Foundation Vice President Chuck DeVore said Texas residents have a lot of digging out to do, but once that s done, it s time to consider the resiliency of power sources, in addition to reliability.
