Third in a series on Apache chiefs
Geronimo, the man who has come to define the Apache Wars, the man who
history has vilified and then glorified, the man who struck terror into the souls of Southern Arizona settlers (and also plenty of Mexican villages), has been woven into the broadcloth of the West; forever.
Geronimo does not actually qualify for the list of great Apache chiefs. Simply put, he was not a chief of any Apache tribe. He was a shaman, medicine man, seer, and interpreter of the Spirit World. In so many words, a 19th-century con man.
Consider him a Native American Rasputin. He attained worshipped status among a small group of renegades.
Major TV Debuts From the Year You Were Born

As the landscape of TV continues to shift, it s always a good time to pause and look at the medium s history. Although the latest buzzy Netflix show dominating everyday conversations is normal, television is one of the youngest art forms around. The first American TV station began broadcasting in 1928, but television didn t really start growing into the influential, widespread phenomenon that it is now until the 1950s.
Since there were initially only three major TV networks ABC, CBS, and NBC popular television was limited to a strict number of channels and studios for decades. The advent of cable television and streaming services has allowed more and more diverse forms of TV storytelling to be made. The most popular show that aired in 2012 when an 8-year-old was born looks vastly different than the most popular show that aired in 1965 when a 55-year-old was born.

A little Goober each day is a must
As we watch television classics, there are many character actors that have made their marks and found niches that allowed them to keep in front of the American public for years and years.Â
One of those actors was introduced to the American television family in the 1960s.
Initially, like so many actors - George Lindsey (1928 - 2012)Â rode onto the screen playing a bad sort opposite the heroes of the little screen westerns on shows like âGunsmokeâ with James Arness, Ken Curtis and the rest of the gang. He returned to that series in six seasons playing various roles. I remember watching him as a colorful mountain trapper with a mean streak a mile long on that show.
