Have ideas for a better bus system in Newark? NJ Transit wants to hear from you
NJ Transit is inviting the community to take part in its bus redesign in Newark.
Two public participation sessions are scheduled for April 8, the first starting at 3 p.m., the second at 6 p.m. They will be held virtually on Zoom, or participants can call in. Participants can register at njtransit.com/newbus.
An overview of the project will be presented first, then they will seek input from participants, according to a NJ Transit press release announcing the meetings.
Thirty-eight bus routes in Newark are the focus of the assessment and how to adjust to the current transit market including where people live, where they work, and how they travel to best align service with demand, the statement said.
