Sydney: Darkhorse contenders The Swans did have a first-round win over the Lions, then burst on the scene with a nervous but impressive win over Richmond. They have since backed this up with some good wins over good teams, including one absolute belting of West Coast. Their style includes manic handball in congestion until they can break free and then hit a tall or high-marking small forward.

Adam Peaty: the making of a champion

Unleashing ‘the Beast’: how Adam Peaty became invincible Peaty’s second Olympic gold medal cements his position as the most dominant sportsperson in Great Britain today – and perhaps ever 26 July 2021 • 3:20am There are three of us in the conversation. Myself. Adam Peaty. And The Beast. “Sometimes the beast has got to come out; sometimes it’s got to rest,” explains Peaty, casting his mind back to the day two years ago when he became the first swimmer to dip under 57 seconds for the 100m breaststroke. The great curiosity of that performance was not just that he went so far beyond any swimmer in history but that he should realise that particular dream at the semi-final stage of the world championship. Why not wait another 24 hours for the final?

Thousands of Australians Protest Lockdowns in Sydney, Melbourne

Thousands of Australians Protest Lockdowns in Sydney, Melbourne Thousands of Australians fed up with COVID-19 lockdowns marched in Sydney and Melbourne on Saturday as part of the “World Wide Rally for Freedom” protests. Australians gathered in the thousands at inner Sydney’s Victoria Park before marching to Town Hall in the central business district, escorted by a heavy police presence which included mounted police and riot officers. Protestors carried signs, and in a video posted on Twitter by Pedestrian Daily journalist Zac Crellin, they can be heard chanting: “What do we want? Freedom. When do we want it? Now!” In Crellin’s videos, supporters can be heard honking their horns and displaying their own signs, amid cheers and shouts by the protestors as they marched.
