Update: Teen in water dies after being electrocuted at Clyde Lake The lake is about 22 miles southeast of Abilene.  Two men, one in a boat and one in the water, were pulling a disabled sail boat when the towing boat struck a power line going out over the water, police said in a Facebook post Thursday morning.  The power line contacted the water.  Trevor Cate, 18, who was in the water, was struck by the electrical current and became submerged under water, police said.  Clyde Lake officials cut power at the lake, and responding officers located Cates and  pulled him to shore. Personnel with Citizens EMS provided Cates medical care and transported him to an Abilene hospital, police said.

Talk About Clyde: City hires Garcia as rec administrator Jeanette Liebold Rickert Konner Garcia is Clyde’s new recreational administrator. He has been on the job since mid-March putting things in place for summer activities at Community Park. “It’s been enjoyable getting things rolling,” he said. He has been busy lining up and putting together teams for T-ball and Knothole leagues, meeting with coaches and passing out equipment. Later there will be Kids Camps to plan for in June and July. He said they will be trying to maintain social distancing as much as possible. Independence Day fireworks will be held on July 3, but any other activities are yet to be determined, because of the uncertainty of COVID-19 guidelines that are subject to change.
