At the sentencing for the man who killed his father in a crash blamed on excessive speed and alcohol, 15-year-old Sam Adams talked about forgiveness.
The teen said he’d spent the previous night listening to his father’s old voice mails and thinking about how he will never see him again.
He told 23-year-old Brandon Marksberry that he could have walked into the courtroom Wednesday and “screamed at you for what you did.”
But, Sam said, “my dad wouldn’t want me to do that.”
Looking directly at Marksberry, he said: “And even though you took my dad from me, I still forgive you.”
A man who faced felony charges after a crash in North College Hill that badly injured a 9-year-old boy, has been cleared of those charges, court records show.
At a bench trial this week in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court, Judge Wende Cross found Santi Estill not guilty of failing to stop after an accident.
Estill s attorney Clyde Bennett II said the then-21-year-old never knew he was involved in an accident. He didn t fail to leave the scene, because he didn t know his car was involved in a collision with the child, Bennett said.
The crash happened July 16, 2020 at about 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Betts and Cordova avenues.

Cincinnati attorney Clyde Bennett has met with many men who were on the run from police, but he said he s never had a night like he did Monday.
He said AR-15-style rifles were aimed at him. He was handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser for nearly an hour. But Bennett said it s all part of the job – a job he s been doing for 28 years.
Bennett told The Enquirer he was in Wyoming on Monday night, meeting with Jaeron Pope, who was wanted in connection to the death of Darious Dickey.
