Article by Social Share Photojournalist Clyde Jones was laid to rest today on home soil after he died over a month ago in Brooklyn, New York. It was his second funeral service, following the first which was held in late April at St Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in East Flatbush, New York. For more than an hour, family and friends of the 90-year-old paid their finals respects at St Mary’s Church, Bridgetown, where Jones’ coffin was covered with the flag of the Barbados Legion.   Clyde Jones (FILE) During the service, he was remembered for representing Barbados well in the United States, the love he had for his country and all that he did to ensure the best of Barbados was publicised.

Veteran photographer Jones laid to rest Article by May 28, 2021 Family, friends and colleagues of the New York-based veteran photojournalist Clyde Jones gathered at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church Thursday afternoon to bid him a final farewell. This was the second memorial for Jones who died on April 3 at the age of 89 at the Mt. Sinai Hospital in Brooklyn. He was fondly remembered for his passion for Barbados and ensuring the island was well publicised on the world stage. During the service, Rector of St. Mary’s Church Canon Wayne Isaacs reminded the audience of Jones’ profession as a photographer and advised the congregation to be wary of the images they ascribed to people around them.
