Margaret Louise Bryars White, belovedly known to most as “Miss Margaret”, 91, a resident of Daphne, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her adored husband “Mr. Billy” whom she reminded, “you’d better be there waiting for me when I get there”. Their timeless love and admiration for one another was nothing less than remarkable. She is survived by her brother-in-law Glen White of Long Beach, CA; niece Brenda Talbot of Stone Mountain, GA; nephews Steve Dunaway of Millbrook, AL and Alan Dunaway of Prattville, AL. There are also numerous people who actively cared for her on a daily basis that she loved so dearly. Most especially in her final days she appreciated those at Baldwin House who took such care of her physically and emotionally. In lieu of flowers, it was her wish that blessings be sent to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Daphne.

Steelway donates record $75,000 January 13, 2021 by Veronica Reiner
Steelway Building Systems and its employees raised $75,000 last year, which was divided evenly and donated this holiday season to three local food programs.
“The community has always been, and always will be, very important to us. Despite the challenges we may be facing with the pandemic, that doesn’t mean we should forget about them,” said Bryan White, co-president of Steelway. He added that fundraising takes place year-round.
Co-Presidents Jason White and Bryan White presented $25,000 donations on Dec. 17 to: the East Elgin Community Assistance Program, which operates Corner Cupboard food bank in Aylmer and East Elgin Christmas Care holiday food hamper program; Eat2Learn, which provides healthy snacks in schools across Elgin and St. Thomas; and St. Thomas Christmas Care.
