Godfrey announced the news in an Instagram post earlier this week. Alongside an image of a painting by Joan Snyder he wrote: “Last couple of weeks as a curator at Tate.and thinking about some of the amazing acquisitions I’ve worked on. Here is Joan Snyder’s 1971 Dark Strokes Hope. A wonderful painting acquired last year. Looking forward to seeing it on display one day.”

Here s what to expect Andre Toran, Louisville Courier Journal An exhibition to honor the life of Breonna Taylor and the nationwide struggle for racial justice is coming to Louisville s Speed Art Museum. Following a year defined by the largest racial justice movement in United States history, the exhibition, titled Promise, Witness, Remembrance, will reflect on the life of Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman who was shot and killed by LMPD officers on March 13 during a botched drug raid at her apartment, and the protests that ensued in Louisville for 100-plus days.

Nick Cave, Unarmed (2018) Sculpture Courtesy of the artist The Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky has released more details on what will be included in its forthcoming exhibition devoted to Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old emergency room technician who was fatally shot by police during a botched raid in her apartment last March. Promise, Witness, Remembrance (7 April-6 June) will span five galleries that typically house the museum’s Dutch and Flemish collection, and feature works by Amy Sherald, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Nick Cave, Theaster Gates, Sam Gilliam, Kerry James Marshall, Rashid Johnson, Glenn Ligon, Lorna Simpson, Nari Ward, and Hank Willis Thomas, among other artists.
