Thomas Randolph, 65, had his double murder conviction overturned last week
He was convicted of murdering his sixth wife Sharon and a man who he allegedly paid to kill her, in 2017
He was sentenced to death for the killings but has been fighting it ever since
The jury in that case heard how years earlier, he had been cleared of murdering his second wife
In that case, he won $500,000 in life insurance payouts; in the second, he stood to gain $360,000
The Nevada Supreme Court ruled earlier this month it was improper for the jury in the second case to hear arguments from the first

Avena was arrested in Tempe on Dec. 11, allegedly in possession of the Taser and for allegedly trespassing at a Tempe residence, Maricopa police said. The tourniquet and bandages were not located.
