A winter storm has lashed the Western Cape since Tuesday night.
Residents have been warned of further flooding as rivers swell.
The winter storm that has swept across the Western Cape has brought the Garden Route District and Karoo more rain than seen in the past six years - in just two days.
The storm, which made landfall on Tuesday evening, hit towns in the Overberg and Cape Wineland areas the hardest, with flooding reported in most areas.
In the Overberg, the heavy downpour caused havoc in the towns of Bredasdorp, Struisbaai, Riviersonderend and surrounds.
In Struisbaai, where around 115mm of rain fell on the first day, evacuations were carried out and around 300 people were displaced by the floods.

Dutch land-based yellowtail farmer The Kingfish Company has appointed Christo du Plessis as its chief financial officer (CFO).
He has been with the company since January of 2019 and has been acting CFO since of November 2020. He will formally replace Itay Young on June of this year, according to the company.
Prior to joining the Kingfish Company, he served as CFO with Klein Karoo Europe, part of the Klein Karoo International group of companies based in South Africa, the world s largest producer of ostrich meat product.
The Kingfish Company reported a healthy first quarter of 2021, with sales volumes surging 92 percent year-on-year and price levels remaining strong.
