Friday, 30th April 2021, 3:56 pm Pupils from Grange View Church of England First School visited the Grangemoor Park development and buried a Covid-19 time capsule. After housebuilder Gleeson discovered that staff have been collating memories, drawings, poems and letters by the children over the last year in lockdown and the Covid-19 tier system, it suggested putting them together and adding to them for a time capsule.

Safety concerns over plans for 65 new homes in town

A CONTROVERSIAL application to build 65 new homes in a Cumbrian town has been amended. Plans for the development in Aspatria were lodged back in September. It would see the houses would be build on vacant agricultural land beside Station Road. The proposed estate would be built by Penrith company Gleeson Homes - but the application has attracted a number of objections. Among them is one from Aspatria Town Council, which was prompted to objected partly by the sheer number of residents who are against the proposal. On March 25, residents were told that Allerdale Borough Council had received an amendment to the plans and invited new comments.

115 home plan submitted for Gainsborough Land at Middlefield Lane in Gainsborough where plans have been lodged for homes. Plans have been submitted to build 115 new homes in Gainsborough in a move which the developer says would bring “high quality” housing to the town. The proposal by Gleeson Homes would see the houses built on land off Middlefield Lane. Under the plans lodged to West Lindsey District Council, a mixture of homes would be built. A total of 29 two bedroom homes, 41 three bedroom semi-detached, 40 three-bedroom detached and five four bedroom houses would be built. The developer said in their plans that the proposal aims to provide “high quality” homes for the town.
