Aughnacliffe saddened by death of Margaret Hourican Late Margaret (Maggie) Hourican (née Farrell), Dunbeggan, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford Reporter: );   ); There was great sadness across north Longford on Saturday, February 13, when the news became known that Mrs Margaret (Maggie) Hourican (née Farrell), of Dunbeggan, Aughnacliffe, had passed to her eternal reward following a brief illness. Predeceased by her husband, Vincent in 2005, and by her daughter-in-law, Marie in April 2014, Margaret, or Maggie as she was known, was in her 93rd year and she was the last surviving member of the Farrell family of Glenmore, Aughnacliffe. Margaret was a lovely lady whose family was her pride and joy and she looked forward to their visits and to seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She has been home in Ireland on and off since last summer.

Greenway links into south Kilkenny should be included in Kilkenny County Plan say councillors Reporter: );   ); There is a huge opportunity for Rosbercon, Inistioge and Thomastown to benefit from the new South East Greenway and plans should be included in the County Development Plan, county councillors say. Cllr Michael Doyle said the Callan Thomastown district has a huge opportunity to build ‘add-ons’ to the Greenway, which will run from Waterford to New Ross. Speaking at a meeting of the municipal district councillors, Cllr Doyle said Leader is looking into linking the South East Greenway with the Wexford Line Greenway, to the east, and Rosbercon has an option of linking west to Woodstock, leading to Inistioge  andThomastown.
