Good news, miniature lovers! Dollhouse Beautiful is back for Season 2. This time, House Beautiful
gave six California designers the same midcentury modern dollhouse and $500 to decorate it any way they wanted. A whole lot of Krazy Glue, DIY accents, and miniature accessories later, we present Dollhouse Beautiful. Though Los Angeles interior designer Amy Sklar makes a business of creating er
human-scaled design, when we tapped her to participate in Season 2 of Dollhouse Beautiful, it wasn’t her first brush with miniatures: “My mother was a miniaturist,” reveals Sklar. “She was incredibly talented. She designed a miniature box of the table at my wedding, complete with our miniature wedding cake.”
One of the most difficult elements of the Torah is the phenomenon of sacrifices. To the modern mind, the idea of making sacrifices seems strange. The simplest way to translate this concept is to think about baseball.
In baseball, a sacrifice refers to a batter taking an out so the team is in a better position to score a run. His or her interest is in securing the best possible outcome for the team, rather than for him or herself. (It’s admirable, but it doesn’t even count against the player’s batting average.)
In real life, though, sacrifice means much more than giving up something small yet the base principles remain the same.

To demonstrate that the proposed multimicrostructure-embedding scheme is capable of generating smooth, well-connected transitions between microstructures composed of unit cells with similar or dissimilar geometries that may or may not have clear connectivity, we design and manufacture the cantilever beam considering three different combinations of two microstructural materials. I remember running to the corner store for candy or for wings and fries or some milk or TP or Krazy Glue or basically anything we were lacking in the house. And at times, Mr. Kim, the Korean man who owned the store, and I would laugh and trade high-fives after the Orioles won, or we d argue if he wouldn t let me go for 10 cents – often leading to me saying F k you! and him kicking me out and telling me, Never return! which we both knew was a joke because that was the neighborhood store – located in a neighborhood with poor public transportation and no other options. I m thankful for the times I shared with Mr. Kim, good and bad – but upset that even though he was a part of our community, we were never really a part of his.
