Mrs Squire said: We are pleased that all the hard work and dedication of the police and legal teams has been recognised. As a family, today s verdict changes nothing for us. There is no closure, we don t get to have Libby back, our lives don t revert back to normal.
She added: Libby will always be with us and we are all so proud of our beautiful, caring, wonderful girl and although she has been physically taken from us, the memories we have, and the love we share, will never be taken.
Libby Squire was in the best place in her life she had ever been when she was raped and murdered by Pawel Relowicz.
The gifted student had been through difficulties with her mental health during her A Levels but after a year out spent travelling she threw herself into her studies at Hull University, where she d received an unconditional offer.
She had good friends and enjoyed to go out and party, but was still in touch with her mother Lisa Squire by phone or text every day.
The silence that followed her planned night out on January 31, 2019, triggered a mother s instinct that something terrible had befallen the eldest child she affectionately knew as Pie.

A butcher laughed and smirked during a police interview when he was quizzed over the rape and murder of student Libby Squire, a jury has been told.
Pawel Relowicz is accused of stalking the disoriented student after finding her wandering drunk and possibly suffering from hypothermia before picking her up in his car and raping her.
The 26-year-old is also accused of then dumping her dead or dying into a river.
Sheffield Crown Court also heard that it was likely Ms Squire was too cold to run away from danger as her judgment could have been impaired by alcohol before she vanished in Hull, East Yorks.
The witness told Sheffield Crown Court he woke up to screams from Oak Road playing fields in Hull, and later saw defendant Pawel Relowicz, 26, moving with purpose away from the scene.

CCTV has been released of what prosecution say is the moment a butcher stalked a 21-year-old student before raping and murdering her.
Pawel Relowicz, 26, allegedly lured Ms Squire into his car as she walked through Hull s student area while drunk and vulnerable after a night out.
Footage shown at Relowicz’s trial is said to capture the moment the defendant first spotted Ms Squire as she sat on a wall alone on Beverley Road.
He then walked in the shadows in an attempt to avoid raising her suspicions, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
The prosecution say Relowicz stalked Ms Squire from the opposite side of the street before darting over to intercept her.
